  • Support and coordinate K-12 leadership in the partner school systems
The Friday Institute:

The Friday Institute began a partnership in 2006 with six school districts to provide educators with high-quality professional development aimed at enhancing students' twenty-first century skills.  An innovative feature of the Institute's delivery model will be its emphasis on developing communities of practice that are sustained over time utilizing online collaboration tools. Partnering school districts are Franklin County Schools, Granville County Schools, Northampton County Schools, Roanoke Rapids Graded School District, Weldon City Schools, ad Halifax County Schools.  Technology partners have included Vernier Software & Technology, mimio, Nortel, and IBM. Beginning in 2008, Bertie and Edenton-Chowan school districts have joined through a grant from NC Quest (UNC-GA).
